Delete Your Account
You have two options for permanently deleting your Texters account (Texters is operated by Phatlinks). Both lead to the same outcome; pick whichever fits your situation.
Before you start: if you are the business owner, cancel your subscription in Billing on texters.app first. Deleting your account does not cancel the subscription yet.
In the app (fastest)
Open the Texters app, then go to Settings → Account → Delete Account, enter your password and confirm. Your account is deleted immediately.
If you sign in without a password, use the form below instead.
By form (if you can't access the app)
Submit the form below and we'll process your request within 30 days. You'll receive a confirmation email when complete.
What gets deleted
- ✕Your account, profile, and login credentials
- ✕Your notification tokens (push notifications stop)
- ✕If you are the business owner: the business workspace with it, including all contacts, messages, pictures, files, campaigns, appointments, segments, phone-line settings and team
- ✕If you are a team member: only your own account. Messages you sent stay with the business, because they belong to it
What we retain (and why)
Billing and transaction records
Retained per IRS / state requirements (typically 7 years). Required for tax reporting and chargeback dispute resolution.
Record of your deletion request
Your email address, the time and the IP address of the request, kept to show the request was handled.
Logs
Web server logs are kept for 14 days. Application logs can include phone numbers and message text; we don't yet delete them on a fixed schedule.
Backups
Deleted information can remain in our backups; we don't yet remove old backups on a fixed schedule.
Product-use records
Records of how the service was used (no message text or customer details), stored under your account number. No time limit has been set for them yet.
Anything legally required to retain
Records under active subpoena, ongoing investigation, or other legal hold.
Timeline
Account deletion completes within 30 days of request. You'll receive a confirmation email at the address you submitted when the deletion is complete.
